Tips To Store New Perfumes

The excitement of smelling and wearing new perfume is unbeatable. You love getting compliments from your friend and everyone who takes a whiff of the scent. You feel like holding the bottle, again and again, admiring its design and wearing the perfume on every single occasion, even if it is to buy the grocery from your neighbourhood market. However, after some time you will notice that your perfume does not smell as mesmerising as it was as a brand new bottle and there is a very slight change of colour. All this is due to the damage caused by not storing the perfume properly.

You might be thinking that why you need to store the perfume properly, it is not your grocery or something eatable, which will turn bad when stored in poor condition. Your perfume is not an eatable, but it behaves like a living organism, which can turn bad when stored in unfavourable conditions. Too much heat, humidity, and exposure to light are some of the biggest killers of any perfume. Henceforth, if you wish to protect your perfume for environmental damages, and dying out too quickly, here are some ways to store the fragrance properly.

Put Them In A Cool Dark Place: This something not many of us does. Storing perfumes in cool and dark places can actually help in enhancing their life and maintaining the quality of the perfume. When you get new perfumes for women, put them in cool dark places such as cupboards that are not affected by direct sunlight. If you have such a cool and dark place, you can keep your perfume over there and take it out only when you want to use it.

Keep It Away From Heat And Direct Sunlight: Any heat source, whether it is the heat from the radiator, blower, hairspray, iron, or sun, no matter what it is, can damage the perfume molecules inside the bottle. With the heat exposure, the alcohol present inside the perfume bottle, used as the base, will start breaking molecules into different chemicals creating something you didn’t pay for. This is the reason why the perfume does not smell as marvellous as it was doing and looks so tinted.

Store Them In Original Packaging: Some of us are habitual of throwing away the packaging of the new perfumes for girls the moment we start using it. Well, you shouldn’t. The original packaging or the box is like a safe haven for the perfume bottle, holding it in safe enclosures and protecting it from all kinds of damages. Moreover, this will also help in keeping the bottle in an upright position no matter where you are keeping it along with protecting it from exposure to direct sunlight. If the perfume bottle is not kept in an upright position, it can develop pressure inside the bottle causing leakage or breakage.

Keep the perfumes away from the direct sunlight, all kinds of direct light sources and humidity. Follow all the above-mentioned tips and you will not see any difference in the perfume smell and longevity.
